What is immediate loading or implants and teeth in a single day?
It consists of placing the patient a fixed denture on implants the same day that the teeth are extracted.
There are cases in which the teeth that the patient has must be extracted (because they are in poor condition and cannot be saved) and implants must be placed to give the patient a denture that allows him to eat and smile. It is in these cases when this procedure can be performed.
In our clinic we always carry out an in-depth study, both with photographs and a radiographic study of the patient’s bone status. It is very important to plan this treatment well since on the same day of the surgery in which the teeth are extracted and the implants are placed, we must have the prosthesis or denture already made to be able to fix it to the implants. In this way, the patient leaves the office with a new denture.
It is important that during the first two months after implant and denture placement, the patient does not clench his teeth hard. It is also very important that the diet is soft, avoiding eating very hard foods. Finally, the patient is taught how to clean the teeth well to avoid the accumulation of food that can lead to subsequent infection.
